Director of Education and Outreach, Julia Hinson Julia Hinson received her BFA in theatre from the University of Memphis in 2002. After graduation she spent three years working at the Mississippi Summer Arts Institute located at the Bologna Performing Art Center in Cleveland, MS. The internationally recognized Mississippi Summer Arts Institute serves students 12-18 years of age interested in a summer camp that offers opportunities in dance; theatre; music; visual; and literary arts. The last two years there she served as the Campus Life Director helping to guide the life of the campers while on site and enrich their daily experience. Julia is a founding member of the Breezeway Theatre Company, a new works company. With BTC she originated roles in several new shows including Love Apples the Musical, Modern Love and a workshop of To the Teeth. Julia has also developed and produced new works such as The Shorty Hawkins Play, Love Apples the Musical and Bit. She has been seen in Memphis performing in Keeping up with the Joneses, Charley’s Aunt, and Three Sisters. Most recently Julia produced and directed Mr Greenjeans which was an updated mis-interpretation of Japanese author Kobo Abe’s The Green Stockings. She is an experienced teacher- leading workshops in acting, improv, comedy, stage movement and stage combat. |
